Ways to bring your organization skills into focus

Because you are an organized gardener, there are ways to bring your organization skills into focus.

Keeping a Garden Journal allows you to review what happened in your garden over the year, or multiple years and uncover how you can make it even better.

An Organized Gardner Story - Keep a Garden Journal

For years I used a simple spiral notebook, but had garden journal envy to have something more suited to the task.  I tried a couple, and that is when I created more and more worksheets to accommodate what I wanted to track and remember.

The problem I had with most journals is they are good for only one year and I could use a spiral notebook for about three years.

I recently found out a garden journal; written by an fellow Garden Communicators International member, that is for three years! I confess being pretty excited and got a copy. The way it is organized, you can see the same day for three years at one glace. I love this, no more flipping between sections in my spiral notebook.  This is super for garden planning – something you are good at too as an organized gardener. It also includes garden info and stickers.  How fun.

Thank you Donna Balzer for your Gardener’s Gratitude Journal – I am certainly grateful for it.  Oh, if you would like to check it out .. let me know and I can get you a copy.  here is the link.

I have kept some level of a garden journey since 1988.  I know that may sound crazy, but as an organized gardener, I find I fun.

Occasionally I go back and read the notes to see what has done well, how the weather has shifted and confirm what varieties have done well or poorly.
